Since childhood, Mark Zapf has been recognized for his artistic talent winning
his first awards while in elementary school. He attended the Chicago School of
the Art Institute's Certificate of Painting Program and had his work exhibited at
the school. His paintings have appeared in nationally juried and local
exhibitions. Mark's paintings are widely collected by both private individuals
and businesses. Still Life #5 (see copy below) appeared on the cover of the June
2003 issue of the an Chicago Bar Association’s monthly magazine. Mark’s
current body of work is an extremely diverse collection clearly showing his
evolving talent. In certain paintings, it is easy to see how Mark is
enthusiastically exploring the works of his favorite artists. Others reflect what is
very much his own personal style -- energetic color combinations paired with
subjects that readily draw his audience into imaginative worlds he creates.
